We had booked a cheap hotel in Sapporo. Then we discovered that the reception consisted of a payment machine behind a curtain, the bed stood on a raised platform, and there was a massage wand in the room. That was about the moment we began to realise we might have overlooked a rather important detail in the hotel description.
